About Firsto

Why We Built Firsto

Firsto was created with a simple goal: every product deserves to be seen — not just the featured or upvoted ones. We want to give makers, indie hackers, and developers a platform where every project can be discovered and appreciated.

Powered by Open-Launch

Firsto was originally built by forking the open-source project Open-Launch, which was licensed under the MIT License at the time of forking.

Since then, the original author of Open-Launch has changed the license terms, requiring all derived platforms to include a “powered by Open-Launch” badge with a dofollow link on every page.

As of May 23, 2025, we have acknowledged this change and added the required attribution badge to our site footer.

Responsibility & Reliability

At Firsto, we care deeply about the planet and the reliability of our service. Our website is cleaner than 86% of all web pages, according to Website Carbon. We also support environmental initiatives by contributing to carbon removal via Stripe Climate.

To ensure transparency and trust, you can always check our real-time system status here: Better Uptime Status Page.
